Deion Sanders once hilariously refused to pay for Shedeur Sanders' lavish lifestyle
Deion Sanders might have built an empire, but he's not handing out freebies when it comes to his kids, including Shedeur Sanders. The famous regimental-style coach, known for his tough-love approach, had a hilarious reaction when Shedeur asked for some extra cash.
In a funny throwback video from October 2022, Shedeur and his teammate Travis Hunter approached Coach Prime with an agenda. It was before the trio had made their move to the Colorado Buffaloes and were offering their services for the Jackson State Tigers.
Shedeur tried to get his dad to splurge on a Balenciaga purchase, but Deion Sanders turned him down with a hilarious reply.
“What do you think you’re gonna get because you know me well?,” Deion asked.
“I’m trying to go to the store … Balenciaga,” Shedeur replied.
Without missing a beat, Coach Prime said:
“I don’t even know how to spell that!”
It wasn't a shocking reply from Coach Prime, who has always stressed financial management, especially to the younger generation of players. Shedeur has a $5.8 million NIL valuation (as per On3) and makes more than players in his father’s era ever could.

Shedeur Sanders is on his way to building an empire
Shedeur Sanders is carving out a name for himself beyond the football field. Apart from carrying his team as a true leader in the second season for CU, he has become a major figure in the college football world.
He's flexing his business muscles by securing NIL deals from top brands, including his latest milestone, a groundbreaking partnership with Nike.
Following in his father Deion Sanders' footsteps, who has his own signature cleats with Nike, Shedeur is the first college football player to sign an NIL deal with the brand. This is just one part of his growing empire.
As per On3, Shedeur's NIL valuation ranks him as the top-ranked athlete in college sports. His business portfolio already includes Gatorade, Mercedes Benz and even Tom Brady’s BRADY brand endorsements.
However, Shedeur has a vision. In his own words, he told On3 that he wants to build something that can be passed down for generations. He’s thinking not only like an athlete but also like a businessman with a legacy like his father’s.
