Georgia vs Florida football history: Records, H2H stats, and more

The Georgia Bulldogs travel to the Swamp in Gainsville, Florida, for their Week 9 clash with the Florida Gators.

Georgia remains the top dog in college football, as for the 19th straight week they kept the No. 1 spot in the weekly AP Poll Top 25. They currently have an overall record of 7-0 and are among the favorites to bring the national title home this year.

For its part, Florida is having a rather confounding season with a 5-2 record. They had a resounding victory in Week 3 over the Tennessee Volunteers 29-16, which saw them enter the rankings. That emotion lasted until Week 5 when a loss to the Kentucky Wildcats 33-14 saw them drop off the national radar.

In Week 8, the Bulldogs had a harder time getting past the Vanderbilt Commodores 37-20. Vanderbilt is last among SEC schools this year, and the not-so-crushing nature of the victory made Georgia drop behind Michigan in terms of national title odds.

Carson Beck threw for 261 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Running back Daijun Edwards spearheaded their attack with 146 rushing yards and one touchdown.

The Gators come off a victory over South Carolina, prevailing by the skin of their teeth 41-39. Quarterback Graham Mertz had the best game of the season, and probably his career, throwing for 423 yards with three touchdown passes. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall had 166 receiving yards with one touchdown.

Let us review the history of these SEC East rivals.
