“Holy sh*t” “Rare W”: CFB fans have mixed reactions as CFP committee chose SMU over Alabama

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee left out the Alabama Crimson Tide for the SMU Mustangs, who will take one of the 12 playoff spots, according to Action Network's Brett McMurphy.

Fans reacted to the news in different ways, including emotions of excitement and disappointment.

"SMU would lose by 30 to Alabama lol." One person commented
"This is either the best leak in CFB or the biggest troll job in all CFB." Another person wrote on X/Twitter

People continued to voice their opinions regarding the news.

"You can't jusy say SOS but then lose to 2 barely bowl eligible teams. SMU isn't losing either of those games." One person commented
"Not the 12 best teams. Peroid end of story. You will see 40-50 point margin wins when 3 of these match up. Or even if they move on." Another commenter posted

It will be interesting to see the discourse surrounding the Alabama Crimson Tide being on the outside of the playoffs this season. The leak came one minute before the selection show started and is believed to be the first leak in the 11-year CFP history.
