How much did Carson Beck pay for his Lamborghini?
Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck has taken full advantage of the opportunities of the new NIL era, becoming one of many players benefitting from lucrative deals. The introduction of NIL deals has completely transformed college football, allowing student-athletes to earn substantial incomes for the first time.
How much did Carson Beck’s Lamborghini cost?
Carson Beck purchased a luxury Lamborghini in February, with a price tag reportedly reaching around $300,000. The model is a Lamborghini Ursus, which as per Forbes, has a starting price of $260,000 but with extras, can reach $313,880.
Beck explained his purchase to the media (as per The Athletic):
“I love cars. I got a car. That’s really all it is,” Beck said, smiling. “Obviously a lot of people are going to look at it and say what a terrible decision, what a terrible choice with his money. But it’s just a car at the end of the day. It’s not too big of a deal. I’m just driving it around.
“I’ve always been a car guy since I was a kid. I mean I grew up always loving cars,” Beck said. “My dream car when I was super, super young was always a Mustang. I never actually had a Mustang, then I grew out of it when I was like 14 or 15.
"But I’ve always been a huge car guy, then growing into that and being able to associate myself with that brand name that large, being able to get that car, obviously it’s a blessing. Being able to associate myself and get that car, it’s been awesome.”
As the starting quarterback for one of the most prestigious programs in college football, Beck has secured 11 NIL deals and has a NIL value of $1.5 million (as per On3), which ranks 12th in college football.
The NCAA's 2021 decision to allow NIL deals enabled athletes like Beck to earn from their talents and endorsements, which was previously prohibited. Now, college stars are generating substantial income through brand partnerships, social media promotions, and other endorsements.
Carson Beck’s 2024 campaign for Georgia so far
As for Carson Beck’s performance, his 2024 season has been a mixed one. Over nine games, Beck has posted 2,488 passing yards, averaging 276.4 yards per game, with 17 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His current completion rate is 65.4%, a notable drop from last year’s high of 72.4%.
In 2023, he was highly accurate and productive, amassing 3,941 passing yards and throwing 24 touchdowns with only six interceptions. However, Beck’s performance this season has seen a spike in interceptions, with 11 through just five games.
This year, Beck’s accuracy has also dipped, with a 50% completion rate in two games likely affected by a few critical dropped passes from his receivers but also by his own in-game struggles.
Next, Carson Beck and the No. 11 Georgia face the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Athens, Georgia. This game, taking place at 7:30 p.m. ET at Sanford Stadium, will air on ABC. The showdown between the 8-1 Volunteers and the 7-2 Bulldogs can also be live-streamed on services like Sling and Fubo.
