The Cougars come from back-to-back shutout defeats over the last couple of weeks. They fell to No. 18 Iowa State 20-0 in Week 5 and lost to Cincinnati 34-0 before that. Quarterback Donovan Smith managed to record only 71 yards against the Cyclones and gave up an interception. In total, Houston had only 243 total yards and gave up the ball three times.
In contrast, TCU broke its back-to-back streak of defeats from Weeks 3 and 4, with a victory over the Kansas Jayhawks 38-27 in Week 5.
