"I stand up for my mother": When Coach Prime's son Shilo made a sweet gesture to please his mom Pilar Sanders

During a special outing in April 2023, Shilo Sanders shared a heartfelt moment with his mom, Pilar Sanders. Their day out together led to a humorous incident when Pilar took issue with her son Shilo for not acknowledging her as a parent.

The Buffs safety took his mother to a restaurant called the "Whole Sol" to get her a dish named after him, the "Shilo Bol." But Pilar wasn't entirely thrilled. As the dish had labels of “Coach Prime’s son” and “CU Boulder Football's,” she playfully pointed out that she deserved some credit, too:

“I don't get any credit for making you” [7:00]

However, he took care of his mother’s request, asking to add her name. Shilo jokingly defended his mom, saying,

"I stand up for my mother," acknowledging her role in raising him. [7:46]

He even suggested changing the name of the dish to simply "Shilo Sanders" to ensure both his parents got their due recognition. The store updated the label soon, finally naming it:

“The Shilo Bol by Shilo Sanders, College Football Star.”

Coach Prime's ex-wife has undoubtedly been a pillar of strength for her children, including Shilo Sanders, who has made his presence felt for the Buffaloes on the gridiron.

Despite earlier setbacks, including a forearm injury in Week 2 and an outing to forget in Week 7 against the then No. 19 Kansas State, Shilo made a comeback.

However, it was in Colorado's week 3 game that she couldn't help but cheer for Shilo's most memorable moment—his first career pick-six during the Rocky Mountain rivalry game against the Colorado State Rams.
