"I've never owned a house without a lake" - Deion Sanders boasts about win-it-all mindset with inspiring fishing story

Deion Sanders has proven his athletic abilities during his prime multiple times. He is the only player in history to play both an NFL and an MLB game on the same day.

Sanders created history on October 11, 1992, when he appeared in an NFL game for the Atlanta Falcons against the Miami Dolphins and later flew down to Pittsburgh to play for the Atlanta Braves in Game 5 of the NLCS against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

In a conversation with Joel Klatt, Deion Sanders enthusiastically shared a childhood story about the time he went fishing with his stepdad:

(from 14:00 mark onwards)

"I was on the bank fishing with my stepfather one time in Fort Myers, Florida. I'm just letting you in on the way, I think. And we can't pull a fish... A boat came by, and it was a couple gentlemen in this beautiful boat, and my stepfather looked at that, and he just went back to fishing.
"What is the thought of most people? 'Hey, if I was in that boat, I could fish a lot farther, and I could have access to two different places.' That's what most people think, right?
"You know what the little young prime thought? 'I want the lake. Forget the boat, I want the lake, cause if I've got the lake I can do whatever the heck I wanna do. And I've never owned a home since then, since my adulthood life, without a lake."

Joel Klatt weighs in on how Colorado can make the CFB playoffs

"Coach Prime" had an electrifying start to his coaching career at Colorado, and the Buffaloes got support from celebrities like The Rock, Lil Wayne and more due to his popularity.

After three electrifying wins against TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State, Sanders and his team faced a disappointing 42-6 loss against Dan Lanning's Oregon.

After their first loss in Week 3, the Buffaloes struggled to bring back their momentum and ended the season with an overall record of 4-8.

However, Sanders has been successful in turning things around and seems to have found fixes to their previous struggles.

In the same interview, Klatt opened up about how Shedeur Sanders can lead the Buffaloes to the college football playoffs in 2024:

"I'm looking at your team, your improvement on the offensive line, and I'm thinking to myself, 'OK, if Shedeur only gets sacked half of the time – so, let's say less than 25 times, that's four more wins. Easy.'"

Deion Sanders has a lot to prove going into the 2024 season, and fans will be interested to see if Colorado can beat their 4-8 record from last year and make a push toward the playoffs.
