Illinois vs. Nebraska prediction & betting tips - September 20 | College Football Week 4
The 24th-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini will head to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on the 22nd-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday night. This Week 4 game is going to tell us a lot about the AP Poll Top 25 as we begin the Big Ten Conference portion of this team's schedule.
Illinois vs. Nebraska preview
The Fighting Illini (3-0, 0-0 Big Ten) are looking to extend their winning streak to begin the season after a 30-9 home win on Saturday over the Central Michigan Chippewas.
Junior quarterback Luke Altmyer played well as he finished 19-of-29 for 242 yards with a pair of touchdown passes while running the ball five times for six yards (1.2 yards per carry).
The Cornhuskers (3-0, 0-0) are also undefeated as they are coming off a 34-3 home win over the Northern Iowa Panthers on Saturday.
Freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola had a good game as he finished going 17-of-23 for 247 yards with two passing touchdowns and one interception through the air and a pair of rushing attempts for 13 yards (6.5 yards per carry) on the ground.
Illinois vs. Nebraska prediction
Dylan Raiola has been a real deal under center as a true freshman, but the Fighting Illini are a dominating defensive program. Luke Altmyer has shown to be a solid quarterback for Illinois but the Nebraska defense has stepped up, allowing no more than 10 points in any of their first three games.
Wide receiver Isaiah Neyor for the Cornhuskers has been Raiola's favorite target thus far and has not found that consistency from the opening game of the season.
However, he should be able to break a long reception out and easily eclipse 50 receiving yards. Go with the Cornhuskers to cover the spread and for Raiola to continue making college football look easy as Nebraska dominates.
Illinois vs. Nebraska betting tips
Tip 1: Nebraska Cornhuskers -8 (-110)
Tip 2: Dylan Raiola 225+ Passing Yards (-115)
Tip 3: Isaiah Neyor 50+ Receiving Yards (+100)
