After graduating, Sherrone began his coaching career at the University of Louisville as a graduate assistant and later as a tight ends coach from 2009 to 2013. While at Louisville, he earned a master’s degree in sports administration.

In 2014, Sherrone joined Central Michigan University as a tight ends coach and quickly rose to assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator. Michigan brought him on board in 2018 as a tight ends coach.
