Is Travis Hunter playing in Alamo Bowl? Deion Sanders drops hint on Colorado star amid latest controversy

Colorado Buffaloes two-way star and Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter, has been at the center of attention lately, both on and off the field. With the Alamo Bowl just around the corner, fans are eager to know whether Hunter will suit up for Colorado’s final game of the season against No. 17 BYU in San Antonio, Texas.

Amid swirling rumors and questions about Hunter’s personal life — particularly his relationship with his fiancée, Leanna Lenee — coach Deion Sanders dropped a hint on the Heisman winner's availability.

“I don’t know about the bull junk. I think everything is great,” Deion Sanders told the media. “He has a Heisman Trophy at the crib. He’s projected to be the first or second pick, no later than the third."
“I don’t know where the bull junk comes in at. I think it’s all a blessing,” he added. “Things that you may count as stressing is still a blessing. And I think he’s headed in the right direction.”

The team arrived in San Antonio on a customized Rolls Royce plane. The grey-painted jet featured the school’s official color scheme, a buffalo emblem on the tail, and Deion Sanders’ tagline, “BELIEVE,” printed alongside the iconic Rolls Royce logo on the engine.

Interestingly, Hunter was not spotted during the team’s landing, sparking more speculation.

However, Sanders has dismissed any suggestions that his players plan to sit out.

“We don't tap out,” Deion said [H/t Athon Sports]. “We don't sit out. It's a blessing to play this wonderful game. Our kids are going to play.”

Despite concerns, Hunter is reportedly committed to playing in the Alamo Bowl and wants to finish his college career on a high note with Coach Prime and his teammates.

Colorado is gearing up for the showdown against BYU with Shedeur Sanders leading the offense and Travis Hunter making his usual impact on both sides of the ball.

“We happen to have two players that are probably going to be the first two picks of the NFL Draft,” Coach Prime said [H/t Athlon Sports]. “We all know who those two are and they have received, I think, the highest number of coverage that has ever been covered in college football. It far exceeds anyone that has ever played this game of college football.”

Away from football, Hunter’s relationship with Lenee continues to grab attention online following a viral video of her dancing with another male individual. The couple, who got engaged last February, is set to tie the knot in May 2025.
