"It's so crazy": When Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders was left astonished by Buffs Nation's support to Colorado
Last year, during Colorado Buffaloes’ home opener weekend, Coach Prime’s ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, was blown away by Buffs Nation’s support. In September, the Buffaloes faced the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado, and clinched a solid 36-14 victory.
But what really caught Pilar’s attention was the sea of Buffs fans lining Pearl Street Mall. They were there to soak in the energy, enjoy the Golden Buffalo Marching Band, and cheer on the CU Spirit Squad and athletic teams. Capturing the moment on her Instagram, she said:
“Everybody in Boulder came out... It’s so crazy here. Wow!”
This season, the Buffs are having a strong run. Their next home game is against Cincinnati on Saturday, part of CU’s Family Weekend from Oct. 24-27. Fans can expect a lineup of events, including open houses, lunch on the lawn, a reception, and the ever-popular Pearl Street Stampede on Friday night.
For nearly two decades, the Stampedes have been a highlight, as Buffs fans gather on Pearl Street to enjoy the band and spirit squad, fueling excitement for the game.
The season’s final Stampede on Nov. 15 will bring fans together again, as CU takes on Utah in what promises to be another electrifying match.

Coach Prime's daughter Shelomi had a quick, heartfelt response to her mom Pilar Sanders' recent game-day photo from Folsom Field:
"So beautiful,” she wrote on Instagram.
Pilar was on hand to cheer for her sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, as they faced off against Kansas State. However, the Buffs lost to the Wildcats, 31-28.
On the field, Deion Sanders and his Colorado Buffaloes are finding their rhythm. They're set to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats in a Big 12 showdown, with both teams sitting at 5-2 and eager for a win that could bolster their postseason chances.
The Bearcats, sticking to their signature black helmets, white jerseys, and black pants, will bring a classic look to Boulder for the 10:15 p.m. ET kickoff, which airs on ESPN.
