
Jack Nelson is an offensive lineman and played the 2024 season as a redshirt senior for the Wisconsin Badgers. Nelson hails from Stoughton, Wisconsin, and attended Stoughton High School. Jack Nelson began his college football career at Wisconsin in 2020. As a redshirt freshman, he played against Michigan on November 14. He started all 13 games as a right guard for Wisconsin in 2021 and was part of an offense that recorded 2,742 rushing yards throughout the season. They were also the second-best rusher team in the Big Ten conference. Nelson moved to left tackle in 2022 and started all 12 games while leading the team with a pass-blocking grade of 83.1, the highest for a Wisconsin lineman since 2019. In 2023, he started all 13 games at left tackle, including a game against Buffalo, where Wisconsin rushed for 314 yards. He led the Big Ten in third-down conversion rate at 44.2%. He also contributed in passing offenses that later became school records for the most pass attempts and completions. He also accounted for just five overall interceptions that season.
Jack Nelson had a remarkable career at Stoughton High School in Wisconsin, where he was rated as a four-star recruit and was ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the state by 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. He was the best senior offensive lineman in Wisconsin and won the Joe Thomas Award. Nelson was named to the all-state first team by the WFCA in 2018 and 2019 and was invited to participate in the 2020 All-American Bowl. He was named to the All-Conference first team three times in the Badger South and also received the Lineman of the Year in the league award three times.
