Jackson Arnold transfer portal: 5 landing spots for the Oklahoma QB ft. Alabama
Jackson Arnold joined the Oklahoma Sooners as a five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He appeared in seven games as a true freshman, throwing for 563 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Arnold completed 63.8% of his passes while adding 116 rushing yards and one touchdown on 31 carries.
Following the departure of Dillon Gabriel, Arnold was named the starter heading into the 2024 season, however, he was in and out of the lineup. He made 10 appearances and finished the season with 1,421 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Max Olson of ESPN shared on Wednesday that Arnold plans to enter the transfer portal, tweeting:
"Oklahoma starting QB Jackson Arnold is entering the transfer portal, sources tell ESPN. The former 5-star recruit produced 1,865 total yards and 15 TDs over 10 games this season. He'll have two more seasons of eligibility and will be one of the top QBs on the transfer market."

Five potential Jackson Arnold landing spots
#1: Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide will likely be in the market for a quarterback via the transfer portal as Jalen Milroe is projected to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. They were heavily involved in Jackson Arnold's recruitment coming out of high school and could look to kick the tires on his interest in joining the program.
The Crimson Tide could provide the former five-star prospect with an opportunity to remain in the SEC and play for one of the most prestigious programs in the sport.
#2: Texas Tech Red Raiders
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have had a strong passing unit throughout the season. Behren Morton will likely enter the 2025 NFL draft, leaving the program with a void at the game's most important position. The Red Raiders would be wise to pursue Jackson Arnold, who played his high school football in the state of Texas.
#3: Ole Miss Rebels
The Ole Miss Rebels have been among the best passing units this season and also recruited Jackson Arnold out of high school. They will also lose their starting quarterback, Jaxson Dart, to the draft. Lane Kiffin could turn to the transfer portal to bring in his replacement. The opportunity to stay in the SEC and play in a strong offensive system could be enticing to Arnold.
#4: USC Trojans
The USC Trojans were among the biggest disappointments in the 2024 college football season. While they did not recruit Jackson Arnold out of high school, coach Lincoln Riley has already revealed that they will look to land a quarterback via the transfer portal.
Riley has coached three Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks in eight seasons and has shown an ability to get the most out of the position.
#5: Miami (FL) Hurricanes
The Miami (FL) Hurricanes could be in the market for a quarterback as Cam Ward is projected to be a top-five pick in the 2025 NFL draft. They should be considered one of the top landing spots for transfer quarterbacks following Ward's leap in his lone season with the program. Arnold could see similar success with them.
