Jason Whitlock promises to "wear Colorado gear" if Deion Sanders & Co. achieve one specific feat
The Colorado Buffaloes have surprised many people this college football season since finishing 4-8 last season. They are now 18th in the nation with a 7-2 record, including a 5-1 record in the Big 12. The Buffs are currently second in the Big 12 Conference and have a legitimate shot at making the College Football Playoff.
While speaking on his "Fearless" show, media personality Jason Whitlock discussed the one scenario in which he would wear Colorado Buffaloes gear and support Deion Sanders' team this season. (from 2:08 - 2:49)
"I know exactly what I'm talking about, I'm not bluffing. I'm going to put my money where my mouth is," Whitlock said. "If the Colorado Buffaloes finish better than 8-4 in the regular season, I'm going to fly myself to whatever bowl game they're playing, dress myself in Colorado gear, and sit in the stands no matter where it is, and cheer on the Colorado Buffaloes. That's how confident I am that people are gloating too soon," he added.
Jason Whitlock has been a skeptic of coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes for the last two seasons, claiming it is more of a publicity stunt than a program attempting to win games.
The Colorado Buffaloes have the following three games to close off the regular season:
- 11/16: vs. Utah Utes
- 11/23: at Kansas Jayhawks
- 11/29: vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Whitlock claimed earlier in the show that he believes the Buffs go winless in their final three games to close out the regular season.
Will the Colorado Buffaloes make the College Football Playoff this season?
The Colorado Buffaloes' best shot to make the College Football Playoff is winning the Big 12 Championship, as the five highest-ranked conference championships receive an automatic bid into the CFP.
However, with how they have performed, the Buffs have a great chance to make it even if they do not win the Big 12 Championship, especially if they win the next three games to close out the regular season.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Colorado Buffaloes are +100 to make the CFP and -130 to miss. It will all determine how they do and other programs on the bubble, but they have a realistic chance of being one of the 12 teams competing for the national championship.
