Jaxson Dart, Cam Ward and Dillon Gabriel: A look at top 10 highest-rated quarterbacks ahead of Week 4 matchups
After three weeks of college football, many of the nation's top quarterbacks are well on their way to top seasons. Three players have already eclipsed 1,000 passing yards with three also already reaching double-digit touchdown passes.
Here's a rundown of 10 of the nation's best quarterbacks ahead of Week 4.
Top 10 highest-rated quarterbacks ahead of Week 4
#10. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
The 6-foot-2 junior waited his turn behind Jayden Daniels and is now strutting his stuff. Nussmeier is completing just under 70 percent of his passes for 895 yards and 10 touchdowns already in 2024. His future at LSU remains bright.
#9. Josh Hoover, TCU
Hoover took over in midseason 2023, but the sophomore is in his first year as a full-time starter. The 6-foot-1 passer has been sharp early, completing just under 70 percent of his passes for 1,022 yards and eight touchdowns. Hoover also has no interceptions yet in 119 passes.
#8. Dylan Raiola, Nebraska
The much-hyped Nebraska freshman has lived up to the hype so far. Raiola has been steady, completing almost 74 percent of his passes for 670 yards and five touchdowns. He's got a big test upcoming against Illinois, but Raiola has been a cool customer so far.
#7. Carson Beck, Georgia
Beck had a dull game against Kentucky, but for the year he still has completed 68 percent of his throws for 680 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has no interceptions in his 82 passes. Beck's best football of 2024 is likely yet to come.
#6. Kyle McCord, Syracuse
Passed over by Ohio State, McCord moved on to Syracuse and has certainly found a home. He's only played two games due to a week off, but McCord has thrown for 735 yards and eight scores while completing 69 percent of his passes. He's been razor-sharp to open 2024.
#5. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
Through three games, Gabriel is completing an insane 84 percent of his passes (best in the nation). The Oregon lefty has also passed for 914 yards and six scores. Of his 94 passes, none have been interceptions. The Ducks certainly got a good one.
#4. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
After three games, the brash and bold Colorado passer has completed 70 percent of his throws, with 999 passing yards and nine touchdowns. Sanders's 8.3 yards per pass attempt is an improvement from 7.5 a season ago.
#3. Jalen Milroe, Alabama
The transition to Kalen DeBoer's offense is going well. Milroe is third in the nation in QB rating. He's only thrown 52 passes so far, but he has 590 yards and eight touchdowns with no interceptions. 11.3 yards per pass attempt is fifth in the nation and attests to the impact of DeBoer's offense.
#2. Cam Ward, Miami
Ward is a veteran transfer quarterback who is making waves in his new home in Miami. Ward has connected on 73 percent of his attempts and his 1,035 yards is second in the nation, with his 11 touchdown passes leading the country. Ward is also fourth in QB rating and may end up as a Heisman finalist given the quality of his play.
#1. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Dart has been electric in 2024 for Ole Miss. His 83 percent completion rate trails only Dillon Gabriel, while his 1,172 yards leads the nation. Dart is also second in the country in QB rating and in yards per pass attempt (13.3). He's also a Heisman contender and is having a brilliant year.
