Khyree Jackson high school career: Stats, notable records and achievements

The death of 2024 NFL draftee Khyree Jackson is one of the more tragic situations in a long time but that does not take away from what he was able to accomplish on the field. It does not only begin with his collegiate career as he was a superstar in high school as well.

He was one of the top players at Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Khyree Jackson was a star on the offensive side of the football, playing wide receiver and putting up some strong numbers.

Let's take a look at what he was able to do throughout his high school career and what he did to land with the Alabama Crimson Tide and then the Oregon Ducks in college.

What did Khyree Jackson do in football during his high school years?

Jackson was a wide receiver for the Wise Pumas and he was a dominant player. He played only one year of varsity football and in 14 games, he was able to do very well for himself. Jackson finished with 39 receptions for 612 yards (15.7 yards per catch) with 12 touchdown grabs as well, a little less than a touchdown per game.

However, he would be involved in the offense more as well as he had a six-yard rushing attempt as well as a 30-yard passing attempt.

In high school football, a lot of talented players will wind up playing on both sides of the ball; Khyree Jackson was one of them.

As a cornerback, he would not see too much action as teams were not throwing in his direction during games. He wound up with four total tackles (one solo, three assisted). However, Khyree Jackson was not a normal high school kid playing football as he also served as the team's punter.

He had 20 punts during the 2016-17 season and punted for 680 yards (34.0 yards per attempt). Eleven of them wound up inside of the 20-yard line to give the opposing team long fields.

The Pumas were dominant throughout the season and did exactly as you'd expect them to do with a dominant force like Jackson. The team went a perfect 14-0 and won a MPSSAA 4A state championship.
