"Lost access to Patrick Mahomes": Fans belittle Dylan Raiola after struggles against Ohio State

Dylan Raiola and the cornhuskers-football" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">Nebraska Cornhuskers put up a fight against the No. 4 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in Week 9, but ultimately fell short.

The freshman quarterback struggled in the game and did not look like the confident player that we have gotten used to in the early part of the season.

Fans took to social media to complain about Raiola's performance against the Buckeyes.

"If Raiola could complete a downfield pass Nebraska would be winning this game," one commenter posted.
"Maybe Raiola just kinda sucks," another person wrote on Twitter.

Other people have tried to come to the defense of the young player, while others were making fun of his play.

"Raiola trying to be Mahomes but they're not even letting him throw on the goal line lol," one person wrote on social media.

"He's a freshman lol," another user commented.

Dylan Raiola wound up going 21 of 32 passing for 152 yards and an interception on the day against a tough Buckeyes defense.

With three consecutive games without a touchdown and five interceptions in that stretch, it seems that he has hit that freshman wall and needs to figure out how to improve going forward.

Can Dylan Raiola figure things out for the rest of the season?

Dylan Raiola is obviously one of the most talented quarterbacks in all of college football with what he has done as a true freshman. However, things are going to be difficult as the Cornhuskers cannot afford for him to struggle at this level for much longer.

However, this proves that he is good but not great right now. He did just face the toughest stretch of defenses as he played the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Indiana Hoosiers, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

With the last four games of the regular season for the Cornhuskers being the UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, Wisconsin Badgers, and Iowa Hawkeyes, this should be an easier opportunity for Raiola to get back to the basics.

His play is a big reason why the team is 1-2 in their last three games and are 0-3 against ranked foes. He should be able to step up and improve for the final stretch of his first college football season.
