LSU Football Week 3 injury report: Update on Jacobian Guillory, Garrett Dellinger, and more

LSU is set to take on South Carolina in a Week 3 matchup on Saturday, but there will be some key players missing for the Tigers. LSU released its injury report for Week 3 and some important players will be unable to play. However, there are also a few players who will be returning from injuries.

LSU injury report for Week 3

There are several players on the injury report for LSU but not all of them are significant players for the Tigers. These are the most notable injury updates for the Tigers this week.

Jacobian Guillory

Defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory will miss the remainder of the 2024 season after going down with an injury in Week 2. Guillory left the game against Nicholls and was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair with a cast on his leg.

It was later revealed that Guillory suffered a torn Achilles and he had surgery on Monday. Since this injury occurred early in the season, he is eligible to be a medical redshirt for the year.

Guillory was a starter for the first two games of the season and his presence on the defensive line will be missed. His replacement has not been announced.

Garrett Dellinger

It is not all bad news on the injury report for the Tigers. Offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger who suffered a concussion in Week 1 against USC has been cleared to play. Brian Kelly told reporters that Dellinger could have played last week but the training staff believed it was best to keep him sidelined. Dellinger has been practicing with the team since Tuesday and is expected to start on Saturday.

Chris Hilton

Wide receiver Chris Hilton has been sidelined with a bone bruise on his left ankle since the start of the season. He suffered the injury during training camp and has remained on the injury report since. He remains day-to-day and it is unclear if he will play this week. Coach Kelly said to the media on Monday:

"He's ground-based. There is going to be some pain, but it's about what he can tolerate."

Kyle Parker

WR Kyle Parker is also questionable for LSU's game against South Carolina. He is recovering from a UCL injury he suffered in Week 1 against USC. He is trying to build back strength in his arm before he returns to game action. Parker is a redshirt freshman who should complete his first full season with the Tigers if injuries won't hinder him much more.
