Michigan reporter points out the one flaw in their roster that puts Sherrone Moore's job at high risk

The Michigan Wolverines are currently the 24th-ranked program in college football as they continue to look impressive despite some major flaws. Brandon Koretz of Fox Sports posted on social media the massive flaw with the Michigan Wolverines roster that could wind up getting coaches fired.

The Michigan Wolverines have seen Alex Orji, Davis Warren, and Jack Tuttle all get extended reps this season. Entering Week 8, the trio combined to go 81-of-133 (60.9%) for 690 yards with six passing touchdowns to eight interceptions. This is a massive reason why the Wolverines are tied for 101st in the country with 23.5 points per game thus far.

While it is not a solution they can fix for the 2024 college football season, getting a quarterback via the transfer portal or as a true freshman next season should be the team's biggest priority.

Can the Michigan Wolverines make the College Football Playoff this season?

The Wolverines have a tough chance of making the College Football Playoff unless they can win the Big Ten Conference Championship again. The betting odds have the Michigan Wolverines currently listed as the sixth-best odds to win the Big Ten Conference and get one of the automatic bids into the College Football Playoff.

Without a quarterback, it is going to be an uphill battle to try to compete with the likes of the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes. This Wolverines team did need to have a backup plan after J.J. McCarthy declared for the 2024 NFL draft after winning the national championship, but it was a deficiency that the program did not equate for.

The massive shift with Jim Harbaugh leaving the Michigan Wolverines after winning the national championship also could have affected the ability to get a quarterback in the transfer portal as well.

Either way, to be successful in this era, you need a quarterback that can take over games if needed and the Wolverines have failed to do that and are now hoping that Jack Tuttle could step up and be that bridge quarterback as they search for one in the 2025 recruiting class and/or transfer portal.
