MWC Championship Game scenarios after Week 13: Is Boise State a serious title contender?

The college football season enters the final week as the calendar shifts to Week 14, with most of the MWC struggling over the first 13 weeks of the season. The 12 teams have a combined 63-70 record, including a 25-32 mark in non-conference games.

There are two MWC teams ranked in the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll, while no other programs received any recognition from voters. While the more important College Football Playoff rankings also had two teams ranked entering the week, they won't be updated until Tuesday.

There are still three teams with an opportunity to reach the ACC Championship Game entering the final week of the season. The No. 11-ranked Boise State Broncos are undefeated in conference play, while two other teams - the No. 21-ranked UNLV Rebels and Colorado State Rams - have just one conference loss.

Take a look at the conference championship game scenarios for each of those programs below:

MWC Championship Game scenarios after Week 13

#1 Boise State Broncos

The No. 11-ranked Boise State Broncos punched their ticket to the MWC Championship Game in Week 13, beating the Wyoming Cowboys 17-13.

They are now 10-1 and 7-0 in conference play. While they have secured a spot in the conference title, they won't know their opponent until after Week 14. The Broncos' conference schedule has concluded, as they face the Oregon State Beavers in their season finale.

#2 UNLV Rebels

The No. 24-ranked UNLV Rebels control their path to the conference title despite not having a spot clinched. They are 9-2, including a 5-1 record in conference play, with their lone conference loss against the Boise State Broncos.

They will reach the MWC Championship Game if they beat the Nevada Wolf Pack in their regular season finale.

#3 Colorado State Rams

The Colorado State Rams remain in the chase to reach the MWC Championship Game but will need help after falling in Week 13. They are 7-4, and 5-1 in conference play, with their lone conference loss coming to the Fresno State Bulldogs.

Colorado State will need to beat the Utah State Aggies in their season finale while also needing the UNLV Rebels to lose to the Nevada Wolf Pack. The Rebels control the tiebreaker, as they are ranked higher in the College Football Playoff rankings.
