$3.9M NIL-valued Olivia Dunne shows up in Paris to support former LSU stars during 2024 Summer Olympics
Olivia Dunne will return to LSU for her fifth year with the program in 2025. However, a few months before the next gymnastic season begins, the Tigers star has headed to Paris to support former LSU stars competing for the US national team at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Dunne, who has NIL deals worth $3.9 million as per On3, was pictured alongside Team USA's beach volleyball stars, Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss, both of whom played for LSU.
Kloth and Nuss are the No. 2 ranked women’s beach pair in the world. They trained together at Baton Rouge and continue to work together at a professional level.
In the TKN mini-documentary "Pointing Two Paris," Nuss spoke about her journey to reach the Paris Olympics.
“I want to change the script of what beach volleyball is,” Nuss said. “When you become a pro, you have to go to California. I don’t like that. Louisiana is my home. I want to do it here. I want to prove these people wrong.
“We decided that Paris 2024, that was our goal and we wanted to be Gold Medalists. We had zero points and we had to figure out how we were going to get into these international tournaments and so many people were telling us to split up.”
Dunne will doubtless be hoping that the former LSU duo win the gold at the Olympics.
Olivia Dunne's role during LSU's national championship triumph in 2024
Olivia Dunne played a key role in LSU's gymnastic national title victory earlier this year. The Tigers scored 198.2250 to take the crown in a tightly contested competition in the final, edging out California, who finished second with an overall 197.8500 score.
Dunne averaged a 9.857 on the floor and a 9.838 on the bars in the 2024 season. She was also named as a member of the 2024 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
In July this year, Dunne took to Instagram to announce that she would return to compete for the reigning NCAA champion in a fifth and final campaign. She will want to end on a high and potentially lead LSU to another national title.
