5-star QB Julian Lewis hints at commitment to Deion Sanders’ Colorado with a unique post

Julian Lewis, a highly regarded young quarterback, has sparked excitement by hinting at a possible commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes. After a recent visit to Boulder in late June, Lewis received symbolic keys from Colorado's quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

This gesture had already fueled speculation that Colorado might sway Lewis’ college choice. The buzz grew louder when Lewis’ Instagram post was shared on X by a Colorado fan account. Lewis showcased his new black and gold cleats, Colorado’s colors.

Lewis is committed to USC, but he's still on the radar of schools like Colorado, Indiana and Auburn. As he gears up for his junior year, he's been turning heads at different camps, leaving USC's Lincoln Riley and Colorado's Deion Sanders on alert.

However, his ranking has slipped recently, with On3 and 247Sports lowering him from a 5-star to a 4-star prospect, according to Yahoo Sports.

The anticipation surrounding Lewis' final decision is palpable, and programs are eager to see where the quarterback ultimately lands.

Julian Lewis finding the best college

Carrollton, Georgia's star quarterback Julian Lewis had been turning heads even before high school. He quickly caught the attention of top college programs like Georgia, Clemson, LSU and Alabama.

His performance on the field speaks for itself — last season, Lewis threw for 3,094 yards, scored 48 touchdowns, and only had two interceptions, completing 66.4% of his passes.

Lewis has been busy visiting potential colleges, including trips to Georgia (twice), Alabama, Auburn, USC and Ohio State last fall. Recently, he also checked out Colorado and other schools.

Colorado, in particular, is eyeing a new quarterback as their current star, Shedeur Sanders, is expected to enter the 2025 NFL Draft after this season.

With the magnetic presence of Deion Sanders in Colorado, combined with the possibility of a significant NIL deal, Lewis might just be persuaded to make Boulder his next home.
