5-star QB Julian Lewis receives special love from Boulder during visit to Deion Sanders' Colorado
Elite quarterback prospect Julian Lewis arrived in Boulder for an official visit on Friday to much acclaim. Colorado Buffaloes fans waited outside Folsom Field for the five-star quarterback while chanting his name, hoping to convince him to join coach Deion Sanders' fledgling project.
After popular Boulder restaurant "The Sink," named a burger after Lewis (Juju's Precision Pass Burger), a nightclub lit up its boards with a message for the 6-foot-1 USC commit.
"Let's make history JuJu! We will CU soon. Love Boulder," the message on the board read.
The Carrollton, Georgia native returned the love Sunday by posting about the visit on his social media accounts.
Teams fighting for Julian Lewis
The USC Trojans and coach Lincoln Riley felt like they won the lottery when Julian Lewis committed to the program last year, but his commitment has been far from straightforward as he tours various programs around the country.
Over the past two seasons, Lewis has thrown for a combined 7,212 yards, resulting in 96 touchdowns for Carrollton High School. Despite reclassifying from the class of 2026, he is still rated the best quarterback in the class of 2025, per ESPN.
The Colorado Buffaloes could have an ace up their sleeves though with Mantrez Walker, a linebacker committed to the program who is a good friend of Julian Lewis.
"I've been knowing JuJu (Lewis) since we were young," Walker told The Coloradoan last month. "We played for the same little league team. Me and him have been tight for a minute."
The Buffs are not the only program in contention for the quarterback's commitment, with the Auburn Tigers making a big push for the talented quarterback as well.
College football podcaster Zac Blackerby, appearing on "The Next Round" podcast, made a huge claim about the quarterback and coach Hugh Freeze's team after the Tigers coach claimed not having to pay outrageous sums of money for a QB from the portal.
"I know JuJu is technically committed to USC, but it certainly doesn't feel like he's committed to USC," Blackerby said. "He's gonna visit Auburn this weekend and several players that are already committed to Auburn are using this weekend as their official visit so they can spend more time with JuJu Lewis.
"This is an all-out push, an all-out effort and when all is said and done, JuJu Lewis will be Auburn's quarterback."
The USC Trojans would be hard hit if Julian Lewis does decide to commit to one of the programs that he has already visited. They have already lost the commitments of Justus Terry and Isaiah Gibson, two five-star defensive linemen.
