$574K NIL-valued Ohio State QB Air Noland gifts 250 backpacks, school supplies to community in inspiring gesture

Ohio State quarterback Air Noland, valued at $574K in NIL deals (as per On3), made headlines with his inspiring gesture of giving back to his community. Noland, a top prospect from the Class of 2024, donated 250 backpacks and school supplies during a back-to-school event in Southside Atlanta.

This event wasn't just about supplies; it included a bouncy house, face painting, a petting zoo, smoothies and Kona ice, making it a fun-filled day for the kids.

Born in College Park, Georgia, Noland played high school football at Langston Hughes in Fairburn. In 2022, he led Langston Hughes to a state championship and a perfect season, raising his stock as one of the best quarterbacks in the class of 2024.

His exploits saw him committing to Ohio State as a four-star recruit, ranked fifth among quarterbacks by the On3 Industry Ranking.

However, it’s not all smooth going for Noland in Ryan Day’s team, facing stiff competition from the likes of Will Howard, former five-star recruit Devin Brown and Alabama transfer Julian Sayin in a deep quarterback room.

Air Noland isn't jumping ship for now

One of Ohio State's prized five-star recruits for the Class of 2024 isn't jumping ship anytime soon. Despite rumors circling on social media and message boards suggesting otherwise, Noland remains committed to the Buckeyes.

His father, Prentiss Noland Jr., addressed these rumors on the “Jucks on Bucks” podcast, clarifying the situation. He said:

“Of course we hear the rumors, my phone is ringing, I've already got like 45 calls here in Atlanta about that situation. Just to put the rumors to bed, Air's in Columbus. There are no problems. There's no situation.
“Did he get a little homesick? Yes. He was homesick when he first got to Ohio. He's like any other normal teenager that leaves,” Air Noland’s father added. [04:50]

Given the crowded depth chart, it's unlikely Noland will see the field this season, but he's aware of the competition he faces. His talent will put him in the mix, alongside Sayin, after Will Howard possibly transitions to the NFL. For now, Air Noland stays put, looking forward to proving himself in Columbus.
