8X MLB All-Star unleashes on Danny Kanell over ‘senseless’ Florida take : “STFU…No need to pee in our corn flakes cuz ur on ur period”
Florida State Seminoles celebrated a statement 41-7 victory over the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on homecoming, but not everyone shared in the joy. Former FSU quarterback Danny Kanell caused an uproar with his take on X (formerly Twitter), comparing the Seminoles to the Kansas Jayhawks.
The Jayhawks had defeated the Colorado Buffaloes earlier in the day by 37-21, causing a huge dent in their Big 12 championship and college football playoff hopes.
Using the analogy, Kanell tweeted:
“Congrats Florida. You are the Kansas Jayhawks of the SEC!!”
Kanell’s comment didn’t sit well with MLB legend and 8-time All-Star Chipper Jones, the 52-year-old, who fired back with:
“Hey Danny…I say this with all due respect for ur mediocre career and even less mediocre career after throwing senseless picks at FSU… STFU! We know you hate the SEC. No need to pee in our corn flakes cuz ur on ur period! Congrats on Charleston Southern.”
Meanwhile, in the FSU vs. Charleston game, Seminoles quarterback Luke Kromenhoek shined in his first career start. He threw for three touchdowns, including a 71-yard throw to Ja’Khi Douglas. The defense was equally impressive, allowing just 57 rushing yards and narrowly missing a shutout.
Despite Jones’ jab, Seminoles fans were thrilled to see signs of life in a tough season. The win marked FSU’s 330th home victory in program history.
Florida State vs. Charleston highlights
The Seminoles’ victory against Charleston Southern at the Doak Campbell Stadium is their first win since September. This triumph improved FSU to an impressive 62-12-1 record in homecoming games and extended their win streak to 11 games.
Mike Norvell and his men had a challenging season, but the Seminoles were up to the task on Saturday. Quarterback Luke Kromenhoek shined in his first career start along with freshman Amaree Williams, who made headlines with a touchdown grab.
Running back Caziah Holmes scored twice on the ground. The defensive unit held Charleston Southern to just 57 rushing yards, their second-lowest allowed under coach Norvell.
Special teams also contributed, with kicker Ryan Fitzgerald going 11-for-11 on field goals this season. This ties him with FSU legends like Roberto Aguayo. Florida State celebrated this win as a part of their Seminole Heritage Game, honoring their partnership with the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
