ACC Power Rankings after Week 4: Huge relief for Mike Norvell's FSU after first big win of 2024 season
The college football season is in full swing as the calendar turns to Week 5. The ACC has been playing good football in the early stages. Over the first four weeks, the conference has gone 45-19 overall in non-conference games.
Mike Norvell's Florida State Seminoles were the risers in Week 4 of the college football season as they finally got in the win column with a 14-9 victory over the California Golden Bears on Saturday. It marked the end of a three-game losing streak to open the year. While Florida State appeared to be dead in the water, the win could serve as a turning point.
There are three ACC teams ranked in the top 17 of the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll. Three additional programs were among the others receiving votes, meaning six of the ACC's 17 teams received some recognition from voters.
There have only been eight conference matchups through the first four weeks of the season. Eight ACC programs will face a conference rival in the final week before the majority of matchups are against conference opponents.
The expanded postseason field of 12 teams likely guarantees the conference at least one postseason seed. Take a look at the ACC power rankings after Week 4 below.
