Alabama football 2025 NFL Draft expert projections: How high will Jalen Milroe, Malachi Moore, Jaeden Roberts, and others go?

The Crimson Tide begin the post-Saban era, and at face value, this class falls shy of the talent the former coach annually filled the roster with. Last April, the Tide placed three players in the first round, and that number would’ve been four if Kool-Aid McKinstry had not been injured. The program suffered from the defection of top talent via the transfer portal, and right now it does not have a first-round prospect on the roster, but that could change.

Jalen Milroe 2025 NFL Draft expert projection

Entering the 2022 college season, scouts graded Jayden Daniels as a fifth-round prospect; the rest is history. Entering the 2023 college campaign, Jalen Milroe also has fifth-round grades from scouts. Could Milroe make a monumental leap up draft boards a la Daniels? Absolutely, in my opinion.

Milroe is an amazing combination of athleticism, arm strength, and quarterback smarts. He can make all the throws and possesses a powerful arm that allows him to drive deep passes with speed and get the ball through tight windows.

He’s not just a mobile quarterback, rather Milroe looks like a running back when he takes off upfield. He’s fast, quick, and creative, making defenders miss in the open field. Yet don’t be fooled; Milroe is not a running quarterback, but rather a passer who is also lethal carrying the ball.

He needs to improve his downfield accuracy, yet Milroe’s upside is off the charts. Losing his three top receivers, including a pair via the transfer portal, as well as several talented offensive linemen, including JC Latham, won’t help Milroe. Yet he’s shown terrific progress in his game the past two seasons and does a good job staying away from poor decisions.

If any quarterback can emulate the huge rise Daniels made up draft boards last year, it is Milroe, who is still just a junior.

Jaeden Roberts 2025 NFL Draft expert projection

Jaeden Roberts is another highly-rated Alabama junior who is very much in the mold of offensive linemen that have come from the program in recent years -- large, powerful, and dominant. Roberts has an NFL build and long arms that he uses to control defenders. He’s a power gap guard with enough size to get looks at offensive tackle. Most exciting is that Roberts was a first-year starter last season, and he’s just hitting his stride.

Kobe Prentice 2025 NFL Draft expert projection

With the Tide’s top receivers now in the NFL or playing at other college programs, Kobe Prentice will be asked to step up his game, and he possesses the tools to do as much. While he caught just 18 passes last season, Prentice averaged 17.5 yards per catch and showed big-play ability. He’s a smaller receiver who will measure under 5-foot-10, but he plays fast and is poised for a breakout campaign.

Alabama has several legitimate middle-round choices who could move up draft boards, but Malachi Moore is the player to watch. Moore is not the greatest athlete and won’t test all that well before the 2025 NFL Draft, rather he’s a smart and tough safety with incredible instincts. It was a surprise he did not enter the draft last April, considering the weakness at the safety position, yet regardless of where he lands in the draft next year, Moore will have a place at the next level.
