Alabama vs. Oklahoma injury report Week 13: Updates on Jalil Farooq, Michael Tarquin, Keon Saab and more

As Alabama and Oklahoma prepare for a Week 13 matchup, the Sooners have a massive numerical disadvantage on the injury list. Alabama (8-2, 4-2 in Southeastern Conference) has only three players listed as "out" for today's game. Meanwhile, Oklahoma (5-5, 1-5) is down 11 players with another listed as questionable.

That's largely been the case this season for the injury-riddle Sooners, who are fighting uphill for possible bowl eligibility. Meanwhile, Alabama is working toward not spoiling a College Football Playoff berth. Let's explore the injury details of a few significant players on both teams.

Keon Saab injury update

Outstanding safety Saab had a lower-body injury against Tennessee and underwent surgery this week. He has been declared out for the year. Saab had 39 tackles and a pair of interceptions in seven games this year.

Cole Adams injury update

Adams sustained a leg injury and has been ruled out for the season. The freshman receiver had six catches for 94 yards but played in too many games to claim a redshirt season.

Quandarrius Robinson injury update

Pass rusher Robinson was lost for the season with an elbow injury last week. Robinson had 23 tackles, seven tackles for loss and four sacks on the season. He last played in the LSU game two weeks ago.

Jalil Farooq injury update

Farooq, projected as a starting receiver, broke his foot in the season's first game. He did return two weeks ago, in Oklahoma's game with Missouri, and caught two passes. But he's now out again due to his injury. Seeing Farooq only play long enough to catch three passes a season after he caught 45 passes has hurt the Oklahoma offense immeasurably.

Deion Burks injury update

Like Farooq, Burks missed a portion of the season due to injury but did play in the last game. But like Farooq, Burks is also listed as out after apparently re-injuring himself in the Missouri game. Burks is still the third-leading receiver on Oklahoma's team despite missing five games due to injuries. He racked up 26 catches in the first four games but had not played until the Missouri game.

Burks caught five passes in that game, but reports are that he was evaluated for a concussion late in the game and is now listed as out for this week. Burks was a transfer from Purdue who was expected to start as wide receiver this season.

Michael Tarquin injury update

Oklahoma has also been banged up on the offensive line, as four linemen are listed as out. But tackle Michael Tarquin, who missed the last two games with an injury, is good to go and should be ready to take on the Tide. Tarquin previously played at Florida and USC, and the senior left tackle will help protect Oklahoma passers against the Alabama defense.
