Arch Manning reacts as Texas RB Quintrevion Wisner boasts about his performance in Longhorns' win over arch-rival Texas A&M
Texas quarterback Arch Manning had a rather unique reaction when his teammate Quintrevion Wisner flaunted his performance in the Longhorns' 17-7 win over rivals Texas A&M. On Thursday, Wisner posted a series of pictures on Instagram from Texas' Week 14 victory over the Aggies at Kyle Field.
"They seen me walk through that 💨with 🔥 oon me still no sign to stop to drop, drop and roll," Wisner wrote in the caption of the IG post.
Manning reacted to the running back's post by dropping a yawning face emoji in the comments.
Both Manning and Wisner were instrumental in getting No. 2 Texas (11-1, 7-1 Southeastern Conference) the win over Texas A&M.
Manning, who briefly came on in place of starting quarterback Quinn Ewers for just a few snaps, used his running ability to rush for a 15-yard touchdown late in the first quarter. Meanwhile, Wisner ran for a career-high 186 yards on 33 carries, while contributing 21 yards on two receptions.
Since Manning is also showing his athleticism and durability with his running game, he appears to have bonded well with Wisner. The two are also expected to play important roles for Texas in the SEC title game against No. 5 Georgia (10-2, 6-2 SEC) on Saturday.
Arch Manning could be given more snaps against Georgia in SEC title game
Arch Manning has served well as Quinn Ewers' backup at Texas this season, and he could get more reps in the SEC title game against Georgia.
On Wednesday's episode of the "Crain and Company" podcast, Georgia insider Rusty Mansell suggested that the Longhorns might use Manning more often for his running game, given Ewers' recent struggles. [Timestamp: 3:53]
"I'll tell you this, and I'm very confident in this," Mansell said. "You're gonna see a lot of Arch Manning. You're gonna see a lot of the run game, especially in the red zone.
"Quinn had some turnovers last week against Texas A&M in the red zone. If I'm a Texas man and we get to 20 (yard zone), you're gonna see Arch Manning. I'm gonna bring his legs and I'm gonna bring that run game."
Manning has impressed many at Texas this season. The signal-caller has completed 61 of 90 passes for 939 yards and nine touchdowns, with two interceptions. He has also added 95 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries.
