Boise State vs. Wyoming: Box score, stats, and summary ft. Ashton Jeanty (Week 13)

We had a nailbiter in Week 13 as the 12th-ranked Boise State Broncos went on the road and defeated the Wyoming Cowboys 17-13. This game was not the sharpest for the Broncos but they won the game behind Heisman Trophy hopeful running back Ashton Jeanty.

The Broncos (10-1, 7-0 MWC) are in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game and are in a great position to potentially even make one of the 12 College Football Playoff spots this year. The Cowboys (2-9, 2-5) are struggling this season but almost made things very interesting with an upset.

Let’s take a deeper dive into the box score and discuss how this game ended up going.

Boise State vs. Wyoming Game Summary

The Boise State Broncos were able to record 15 first downs but were just 1-of-10 on third downs and 0-2 on fourth downs in the game. The Broncos scored 17 points on 352 total yards (167 passing, 185 rushing) and it helped run the football for 6.2 yards per carry.

However, the passing game was a bit of a questionable aspect of their game as Maddux Madsen went 14-of-26 and only threw for 6.4 yards per pass attempt. Boise State needs to do a bit better offensively going forward if they want to be as dominant as they have been earlier this season.

The Wyoming Cowboys had an okay game offensively as they were able to tally 13 points on 319 total yards (203 passing, 116 rushing) and recorded 14 total first downs.

The quarterbacks threw for 7.5 yards per pass to make more plays down the field and the biggest aspect was that they had only three penalties committed for 20 yards. This Wyoming were able to play well but needs to figure out how to click in their season finale next week.
