Browns Insider turns the spotlight on Jimmy Haslam's "fascination" with the Manning family to drop eye-catching theory on Arch Manning

The future of the NFL lies in the current crop of college football players, and one team might be eyeing a quarterback with relatively little experience.

On the "Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show," host Jason Lloyd discussed the possibility of the Cleveland Browns being interested in Texas backup quarterback Arch Manning. He also noted owner Jimmy Haslam's long-standing interest in the Manning family.

"You know who could be coming in 2026? Arch Manning. And who has Jimmy Haslam had a fascination with since he bought the Browns? The Manning family. It makes perfect sense, for all the things that Myles Garrett is, the one thing he's not, it's the same thing Joe Thomas was not, and that's a quarterback."

Arch Manning has started a few games this season but hasn't seen much action overall. In his collegiate career, he's completed 63-of-95 passes (66.3%) for 969 yards, with nine passing touchdowns and two interceptions. Additionally, he's run 27 times for 107 yards (4.0 yards per attempt) and scored four rushing touchdowns.

What does Arch Manning bring to the table as a quarterback?

Arch Manning is the favorite for the 2025 Heisman Trophy due to his impressive performance and natural talent. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Manning has strong familial ties to football legends Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning.

His experience and family background certainly help his prospects, similar to Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who benefits from having a Pro Football Hall of Famer father.

With the expectation that Manning will take over as the Texas Longhorns quarterback in 2025, as Quinn Ewers may transfer or enter the NFL Draft, there is much anticipation surrounding him. Manning has demonstrated his ability to gain yards both with his legs and his powerful arm. Teams will undoubtedly be watching closely when he enters the NFL draft.
