Buffalo vs. UConn: Box score, stats and summary feat. Cam Edwards

UConn dominated in a 47-3 win over Mid-American Conference opponent Buffalo. The Huskies climbed to an early 23-0 lead in the first half and never looked back.

This wasn't particularly expected as Buffalo travelled to UConn. The Huskies were 2-2 under coach Jim Mora. Meanwhile, the Buffs were off a road win at No. 23 Northern Illinois 23-20 in overtime. Buffalo won that game despite totaling just 184 yards of total offense. They didn't fare as well in Week 5.

Meanwhile, UConn came in having improved to 2-2 with a 48-14 Week 4 win over Florida Atlantic. UConn rushed for a whopping 421 yards in that game, with two different rushers each gaining 156 yards. That was a sign of a significant power rushing attack to come.

Buffalo vs. UConn Game Summary

The Huskies absolutely rolled in this game, taking control early with running back Cam Edwards and then incorporating the play-action passing attack to break the game open. Huskies wideout Skyler Bell posted his third 100+ yard receiving game of the season and had a career-high day for receiving yardage. Backup QB Joe Fagnano played well in relief of starter Nick Evers.

The Huskies climbed to 3-2 on the season, already equaling their win total from the 2023 season. The Huskies won six games and reached a bowl in 2022 and could be moving in that direction in 2024.

Meanwhile, Buffalo negated much of the positive impact of its upset over Northern Illinois with a poor performance to slide to 3-2. The Buffs also won just three games a year ago, but were 7-6 in 2022, although their remaining opportunities will come against their foes in the Mid-American Conference.
