CFB insider has bullish take on Michigan State for the 2025 NFL Draft: Where could Jonathan Smith's men land?
Michigan State has been through some disastrous times recently. The firing of head coach Mel Tucker just weeks into the 2023 season led to just a four-win campaign. They had a single player drafted in April, center Nick Samac, in the seventh round. They may be hard-pressed to top that next year.
Scouts are unanimous in their belief that the Spartans have no draftable prospects as we move towards the start of the 2024 season. I disagree and I believe they have a pair of linebackers who will receive late-round consideration.
Michigan State NFL Draft 2025 Preview
#1 Cal Haladay
Cal Haladay has been a super productive defender for Michigan State since he was a redshirt freshman, leading the team in tackles the past three seasons. He’s smart, instinctive and plays sideline to sideline, making tackles. Haladay is also solid in coverage.
#2 Jordan Turner
Jordan Turner has the same exact style of play. The Wisconsin transfer flies around the football field and shows a lot of ability in coverage.
The issue for both is computer numbers, as Haladay and Turner have almost the same exact size (six feet, 235 pounds) and speed (4.72 seconds in the 40).
