“Chill bruddaa” - Former LSU teammate Jayden Daniels backs Malik Nabers amid multiple fights at practice

Things got heated at the New York Giants' practice session today, with former LSU Tigers wide receiver Malik Nabers right in the middle of the action. With the Giants and Detroit Lions still engaged in joint practices, the second day in a row saw fights break out, this time escalating to punches being thrown.

Nabers found himself at the center of the brawl after being blocked from catching a would-be touchdown. Lions safety Kerby Joseph didn’t take kindly to it, and the fists started flying.

Despite the chaos, Nabers put on an incredible performance, catching 17 out of 18 targets during the 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 periods, while missing a spectacular one-handed grab.

Amid the drama, Nabers received support from his former LSU teammate Jayden Daniels. The duo was famous for sharing an adorable friendship bond at LSU. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner took to Instagram, tagging Nabers in his story with a message:

Even after Nabers and Joseph were separated, tensions remained high, with several other skirmishes breaking out. This is the second consecutive day of brawls between the Giants and Lions, with Monday's practice also seeing a lot of pushing and shoving. Fights in the NFL are risky business leading to player injuries.

Giants GM's son preferred Jayden Daniels over Malik Nabers

HBO's Hard Knocks' latest episode concerning the New York Giants aired last month and it had a twist worthy of a Hollywood script. The Giants selected former LSU WR Malik Nabers in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, if Giants GM Joe Schoen had listened to his son, they might have traded up to snag another LSU star — quarterback Jayden Daniels. Despite Daniel Jones nearing full recovery from his ACL tear, Schoen had considered drafting a quarterback, specifically eyeing Daniels and J.J. McCarthy.

The episode revealed that Schoen is asking his kids for their draft opinions. His son, Carson, had a clear favorite - Jayden Daniels.

“You only get this job once, you need to try to win,” Carson said.

When Joe asked Carson who else he’d pick, the responses included Drake Maye, Marvin Harrison and Malik Nabers. His daughter’s pick? J.J. McCarthy, for his good looks!
