Coach Prime’s Colorado welcomes 5-star QB as potential Shedeur Sanders’ successor

Deion Sanders' Colorado will reportedly welcome 5-star high school prospect Julian Lewis for his second recruitment visit to Boulder. The Carrollton High School quarterback is set to visit Coach Prime and his team's facility this weekend when the Buffaloes host the Cincinnati Bearcats at Folsom Field on Saturday.

As per reports, Lewis has already committed to USC, but many in Boulder view him as Sheduer Sanders' successor at Colorado.

Since Sanders is set to declare for the 2025 NFL draft, Coach Prime will need to identify a quarterback who will lead his team's offense for next season.

Notably, Lewis is a senior at Carrollton in Georgia and will enter his first season of college next year. He is also only behind Bryce Underwood among the five-star quarterbacks in ESPN's Class of 2025 rankings, which could prompt Colorado to turn his head this weekend.

Lewis verbally committed to USC in August last year. He is also being closely monitored by Indiana.

However, in June this year, Lewis teased his fans on X, when he posed with Sanders, who seemed to pick the high school quarterback as his successor in Boulder.

Lewis donned a Colorado jersey while sitting on a throne. Meanwhile, Sanders held a football in his right hand and appeared to hand over a set of keys to Lewis with his other hand.

Shedeur Sanders is enjoying a strong senior year with Colorado thus far. The quarterback has completed 195 of 270 pass attempts for 2,268 yards and thrown 19 touchdowns, with six interceptions. He has also rushed for two touchdowns while starting in all seven games for the Buffaloes after Week 8.

Sanders, who has led the Buffs to a 5-2 record, has boosted his draft stock for next year. Moreover, Colorado is just one win away from securing bowl eligibility.
