Why did Shelomi Sanders leave her father’s Colorado program?

Shelomi Sanders revealed why she left her father’s Colorado program. A promising basketball talent, who previously played at Jackson State and Colorado, Shelomi surprised fans by transferring to Alabama A&M earlier this year.

After months of speculation, Shelomi shared her reasons in an open Instagram live chat on August 11 with Coach Freeman.

"For me, I would say, yeah, last year during the beginning where I just came home sad every day," she said.

Shelomi had struggled, ending her season as a redshirt due to an injury and logging just 11 minutes on the court.

"I was sad and mad like every day,” she added. “That and when I was at Jackson, like if I didn't leave when I did, I promise you I would have quit."

Though Shelomi didn't go into detail about the issues she faced, her comments hinted at deeper frustrations with the program.
