Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders expresses excitement after Shedeur & Co.'s spirited win over Texas Tech
After the Colorado Buffaloes’ 41–27 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Shedeur Sanders’ mom, Pilar Sanders, expressed her excitement on Instagram. Following quarterback Shedeur’s standout performance, throwing for 291 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for another, Pilar shared her pride on Threads, posting:
“We Win!!!!”
With this win, the Buffaloes are 7-2 and rank second in the Big 12 standings.
Pilar Sanders has been vocal in her support all season. She called Shedeur the “#1 QB in the country!” in a comment on an Instagram post by Colorado Football in October to celebrate his accomplishments.
As the Buffs look ahead, their path to the Big 12 title game is simple: keep winning. With Fox's Big Noon Kickoff heading to Boulder for their upcoming game against the No. 21 Utah Utes, the excitement around Colorado’s season keeps growing.
NCAA officials asked Shedeur Sanders to swap out a t-shirt
Before Colorado’s game against Texas Tech on Saturday, NCAA officials asked Shedeur Sanders to swap out a t-shirt promoting his brand, SS2 Legendary.
A video shared online shows referees asking Sanders to switch to official Colorado gear before warmups. Sanders replaced the t-shirt featuring his image with a No. 2 sweatshirt.
According to the NCAA football rulebook, "Advertisements are not allowed on uniforms or any items of apparel." A new rule also requires players’ jersey numbers to be visible during warmups.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s victory marked Colorado’s fourth straight road win, driven by standout performances from Travis Hunter, Sanders and the Colorado defense.
With a 7-2 record (5-1 in the Big 12, No. 20 in College Football Playoff rankings), Colorado is positioned to compete for the Big 12 Championship and potentially earn a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff.
Two years ago, the Buffaloes were struggling with a 1-11 season, which led to the hiring of Deion Sanders in December 2022. Sanders has turned things around, holding an 11-10 record over his two seasons at CU.
