The 2024 college football season has seen the landscape of the sport altered due to conference realignment. While there were many complaints about the vast reshaping of the four remaining power conferences, there are just seven undefeated teams from those conferences following Week 8. Impressively, none of those teams belong to the SEC.
Furthermore, viewership has been great through the first half of the season. In fact, Week 8 became the first time since 1996 that a single network aired two games that both had at least 10 million viewers as ABC's viewership never dipped below that mark during their primetime SEC doubleheader.

#1. Georgia Bulldogs at Texas Longhorns - Week 8
The then-No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs visited the then-No. 1 Texas Longhorns in Week 8. The matchup drew the most viewers of any college football game this season as per Yahoo Sports, with 12.9 million viewers tuning in to ABC to watch the Bulldogs win by a final score of 30-15.
#2. Georgia Bulldogs at Alabama Crimson Tide - Week 5
The then-No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs also participated in the second-most viewed game this season. Their Week 5 visit to Tuscaloosa to face the then-No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide brought 11.99 million viewers to ABC. The Crimson Tide won 41-34 in a potential Game of the Year candidate.
#3. Alabama Crimson Tide at Tennessee Volunteers - Week 8
The then-No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide visited the then-No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers in Week 8. ABC, who had a big day last weekend with two of the top three rated games of the season, attracted 10.7 million viewers as the Volunteers defended their home field with a 24-17 victory.
#4. Ohio State Buckeyes at Oregon Ducks - Week 7
The then-No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes traveled across the country in Week 7 to face the then-No. 3 Oregon Ducks in the only matchup listed that does not feature an SEC program. The game, which aired on ABC, drew 9.6 million viewers as the Ducks won 32-31 in another Game of the Year contender.
#5. Texas Longhorns at Michigan Wolverines - Week 2
The then-No. 3 Texas Longhorns make another appearance on the list for their Week 2 visit to Ann Arbor to face the then-No. 10 Michigan Wolverines. 9.19 million viewers tuned in to Fox to watch the Longhorns win 31-12.
