College GameDay 2024 Week 5 location: Venue details, time and more explored
College GameDay has been one of the shows that travels to the top games of the college football season and hosts the show live from the venue. Lee Corso and the rest of the cast will be heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to see a rematch of last season's SEC Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
This will be the 20th time the Alabama Crimson Tide will be hosting College GameDay on campus, ranking second all-time behind the Ohio State Buckeyes with 23 times hosting.
The Week 5 College GameDay will be the 60th time that Alabama has appeared in the game that the show is highlighting, breaking the tie with the Buckeyes in that regard.
The Georgia Bulldogs will be tied with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the sixth-most appearances with 37. This will be the first time the College GameDay crew will be there since former Roll Tide coach Nick Saban joined the cast.
The Crimson Tide appeared four different times last season, while the Bulldogs appeared just once for the SEC Championship Game.
College GameDay airs every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. ET until the opening kickoffs at noon.
College GameDay Week 5: Georgia vs. Alabama
The Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide are two of the biggest programs in the Southeastern Conference and this game should be outstanding. Taking a look at the peek-ahead line, the Roll Tide are 2.5-point home underdogs for this game, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
This will be Coach Kalen DeBoer's first appearance in the rivalry against Kirby Smart, and it promises to be an intriguing game. These two programs will face off for the 74th time, with the Crimson Tide holding a 43-26-4 record against the Bulldogs.
Both teams are off in Week 4 so they should be well-rested for this College GameDay showdown. With these two teams expected to be amongst the top programs in the SEC this season and to make the College Football Playoff, this game means a lot more than most Week 4 games on the slate.
