"They don't understand that certain Dogs always Hunt": Colorado HC Deion Sanders boosts NFL star DeAndre Hopkins's morale amid performance criticisms

DeAndre Hopkins was once one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. However, while he can still have moments of strong play, Hopkins' performances have been criticized over the last few years.

However, on Thursday, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders posted a message of support for Hopkins on social media.

"They don’t understand that certain Dogs always Hunt. I’m betting on DHop and I don’t BET! 🧥<Gold Jacket"

In his message, Sanders stated his belief that Hopkins will one day make the Hall of Fame and win a gold jacket.

Hopkins was drafted by the Houston Texans as the 27th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. During his time with the Texans, he became a reliable target for the variety of quarterbacks who played for the organization.

Hopkins only had two seasons where he recorded less than 1,000 recieving yards, and was a key part in the team's 2019 playoff run. In it, they were nearly able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hopkins was then traded to the Arizona Cardinals in a move that was widely panned. However, it would be the Texans who would have the last laugh.

While Houston did trade away their star wide receiver, Hopkins was never able to return to the strong form that was shown with the Texans. He soon was traded again, this time to the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans have been able to slightly get Hopkins out of his slump, but he is still getting criticized. Deion Sanders disagrees with the critics and thinks that Hopkins will be back to his previous form in no time.

What has DeAndre Hopkins said about the Tennessee Titans?

DeAndre Hopkins has also spoken to the media about his Titans teammates, and why he, like Sanders, believes that he will be able to have a good 2024 season. Hopkins told Sports Illustrated that:

"I think this is one of the best wide receiver groups I've had the chance to play with on paper. Obviously, I could come up here and say a bunch, but we haven't played a game yet. So, we'll see how it goes once we hit the field. (We're) just taking it day by day. Tyler Boyd has been in this program for a while. A lot of us are still learning how things go. Just coming out practicing."

Hopkins has a lot of praise for his teammates. He believes that once the season gets up and running, he will be able to work with them to form an incredibly strong group of wide receivers.

While he is optimistic, Hopkins has also been somewhat realistic about his experience in this offensive system.

"This is an offense I have never played in. There's a lot of things I can do to help this offense, so trying to execute and be perfect. I am a perfectionist, and I've definitely made some mistakes already. Just come in the next day and not make those mistakes."

DeAndre Hopkins has the potential to have an impressive 2024 season and return to his previous form. The NFL and Deion Sanders will be watching.
