Colorado HC Deion Sanders sets the record straight as Buffaloes' new uniform rumors swirl around
Deion Sanders took just under two hours to shut down rumors surrounding the Colorado Buffaloes' new uniform. With 27 days to go for the start of their 2024 NCAA Football season, excitement around the Buffaloes continues to grow ahead of Sanders' second season as their coach.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) from 'CU Buffs Stats' seemed unsure when teasing the Buffaloes' new uniform combinations for this season. Among the seven combinations shown, the gold helmets and pants with a black jersey had a striking resemblance to their traditional home jersey from last season.
It also showed that their road jersey comprised black pants and helmets with white jerseys, while their alternate jersey had white helmets and golden pants. In response to this tease, 'Coach Prime' quickly shut this rumor down by quote-tweeting the post.
"It Ain't," Sanders wrote.
While the Buffaloes' final jersey color combinations for the upcoming season remain a mystery, they could get a major upgrade as per defensive end Arden Walker, who supposedly got a sneak peek of the initial designs of new Nike outfits this February.
Deion Sanders keen to improve on disappointing 2023 season
'Coach Prime' endured a difficult start to life in Colorado. Although they won their first three games of the season, they only managed to win one of their last nine. They finished last in the Pac-12 regular season with a 1-8 conference record and 4-8 overall record.
Sanders will look to turn the Buffaloes around this year and has taken steps toward it by adding some solid players to the roster. Popular names among their commits include Brandon Davis-Swain and IMG Academy pass-out Jordan Seaton.
Besides them, Sanders also has some gems in his current roster. CB Travis Hunter and WR LaJohntay Wester are excellent talents, while his son Shedeur Sanders is among the most gifted QBs in the Buffaloes' history.
With this trio pushing to raise their stock for the NFL draft and Sanders' immense experience, 2024 could be the year when the Buffaloes finally achieve glory again.
