Colorado punter had Deion Sanders jumping for joy by pulling out Coach Prime's iconic celebration during CU practice

Colorado punter Mark Vassett had Deion Sanders jumping with joy during the Buffs' practice this week. This came after he pulled out Coach Prime's iconic "Primetime Shuffle" celebration from his playing days. Sanders, who spent 14 seasons as a cornerback in the NFL, often celebrated his return touchdowns by running into the endzone with one hand on the back of his head.

Vassett channeled his inner Sanders during Colorado's special teams' relay race and left Coach Prime in awe after he ran across the finish line.

Vassett, a senior, has played in every game for No. 23 Colorado (8-3, 6-2 Big 12) this season. He has punted 44 times for 1,931 yards.

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Vassett praised Sanders for helping him hone his skills at Colorado. The Australian also said he was looking forward to his Senior Day in Colorado's matchup against Oklahoma State on Friday.

Deion Sanders' Colorado suffered a crushing 37-21 defeat against Kansas in Week 13 on Saturday. It was the Buffs' third loss this season and it pushed them out of the College Football Playoff race. However, the Buffaloes still have a few more games to look forward to and Sanders will aim for his team to finish the season on a high.

Apart from the Week 14 matchup against Oklahoma State, Colorado will play in a bowl game this year. The Buffs confirmed bowl eligibility when they beat Cincinnati on Oct. 28, to get their sixth win of the season.

Colorado has shown huge improvements this season. In the 2023 season, which was Sanders' first at the helm, Coach Prime led the Buffs to a rather underwhelming 4-8 record.

The Buffs also have two Heisman contenders in Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, so there are still some honors up for grabs for the team.
