Colorado's Deion Sanders addresses relationship with Cincinnati before Buffs-Bearcats Week 9 clash

Deion Sanders has impressed turning things around for the Colorado Buffaloes. They sit at 5-2, with a 3-1 mark in Big 12 play in their first season back in the conference. The Buffaloes will have a big game in Week 9 as the Cincinnati Bearcats, who are also 5-2 and 3-1 in Big 12 matchups, visit Folsom Field.

Coach Prime, who spent parts of four seasons playing for the MLB's Cincinnati Reds, discussed his relationship with the city.

The Pro and College Football Hall of Famer stated:

"First and foremost, Cincinnati is dear to me. The city, Ohio, that's where I got to know the Lord at. That's where I gave my life to the Lord so I'm forever grateful to Cincinnati. I wanted to play two sports there at one point. I wanted to play for the Reds forever. I loved that city. I used to live right downtown. Now, downtown is somewhat different, it does seem."

Sanders continued:

"Coach [Mike] Zimmer lives in Cincinnati so whenever I visit near that area, I go to his ranch and kick it with Zim' a little bit. But I love Cincinnati. I love what they're doing football wise. What they did a few years back [reaching the College Football Playoff] was phenomenal so I've followed them because my heart goes out to Cincinnati."

Sanders added that he used to leave 50 tickets for kids every game while playing for the Reds. He hit .260 with seven home runs, 44 RBIs, 94 stolen bases and a .665 OPS in 226 games during his stint.

MC Hammer reflects on friendship with Deion Sanders

"There's so many memories. We basically spent years and years and years and years going around the world together, going to places together, family going together. His father spent his last year on the road with me. I took him all around the world. And so we just got so many memories, so many things to talk about and we just keep that love real close. But I was so excited because, again, I've been watching him and the things that he's doing with Colorado. Very proud of him."
