“Come back to life”: Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin delivers a heartwarming message after comeback win against Oklahoma
Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin became the fastest to 40 wins (57 games) with the Rebels after his team produced a second-half comeback to beat Oklahoma 26-14 on Saturday. On Monday, just a few days after his historic achievement with the program, Kiffin posted a heartwarming message to his followers on his Instagram story.
"We are often lost in forgetfulness. We go through our days as though we are sleepwalking, as though we are only half alive. Today, let’s take a moment to come back to life in each breath, in each step." Kiffin wrote.
"Let’s truly be here, where life is happening, and be deeply in touch with this miracle, with all that is around us and within us. When we are truly here, in the present moment, we are filled with gratitude, peace, and happiness. Let us enjoy our breathing, smiling, and the wonders of life all around us. This is the true purpose of our practice."
Kiffin took 57 games to reach 40 wins with Ole Miss, overtaking John Vaught's record of 60 games. In his fifth season with the team, Kiffin's record with the Rebels stands at 40-17.
Furthermore, Kiffin is only the fourth coach in Ole Miss history to reach the 40-win landmark, joining the likes of Vaught (190-61-12), Billy Brewer (67-56-3), and David Cutcliffe (44-29).
Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss will be eyeing College Football Playoff berth
The No. 19 Ole Miss Rebels (6-2 overall, 2-2 in Southeastern Conference) will be eyeing a spot in the College Football Playoff for this season. However, Lane Kiffin's team will be aware that his team cannot afford to lose another regular season game.
The Rebels will travel to Fayetteville to play the Arkansas Razorbacks (5-3 overall, 3-2 in SEC) next in Week 10 on Saturday.
