"Congrats fam" - Trevor Etienne, Oscar Delp and other Georgia stars send out wishes to teammate Malaki Starks over engagement snaps
Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Malaki Starks has been instrumental in his team's stellar form in the past few weeks after the loss in Tuscaloosa to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Starks was part of a rabid defensive effort in Austin in Week 8 of college football action when the Bulldogs won 30-15 in Austin against the Texas Longhorns.
After the Bulldogs' big win, Starks popped an important question to his longtime girlfriend Savanna Jackson, asking her to marry him on October 25 during Georgia's bye-week.
Starks posted pictures from the proposal on Instagram, showing the setup which had a white carpet, a bed of roses, lit candles and a heart-shaped arch made of roses.
Malaki Starks captioned the post:
"Oct 25th -stamped. Beyond blessed to be on this journey with you forever and alwaysđź’Ťđź–¤" Starks wrote.
Stark's Georgia teammates, Trevor Etienne, Daylen Everette, Dan Jackson, Colbie Young and Oscar Delp, all commented on the post, congratulating him for the milestone in his life.
Malaki Starks has a personal life of charity
Malaki Starks became a starter immediately after he joined the Georgia Bulldogs three years ago, winning a national championship in the process. He has found success both on and off the field.
Stark has settled into the Athens area, immersing himself in charitable causes. Last month, he was one of 11 FBS players named to the AFCA Good Works Team due to his work with the community.
He collaborated with the Wilderness Works football camp at Cabbagetown Park and was instrumental in donating $10,000 to schools in the community under the Georgia Teachers Initiative.
During an in-house interview with Georgia, Malaki Starks revealed why he has been so involved in charitable causes in the community.
"I think it started when I was little," Malaki Starks said. "Growing up, you saw people who were giving back who didn't have to, and ... I was like, 'Man, I want that'! Like, as I got older, I saw the impact that it had on people, and then as I got into it, I realized the impact that it had on me, as well.
"I think the biggest thing growing up, my parents always taught me that God's blessing you with the ability to do the things that you do, so you can give back to others, so you can be a blessing to others."
Malaki Starks did not stop with the Georgia Teacher's Initiative. He also collaborated with Dick's Sporting Goods to get $300 worth of gift cards for members of the Boys & Girls Club of Athens.
Starks also treated kids from the Gladiator Youth Football and the Boys and Girls Club of Athens to a day of shopping at the Academy Sports + Outdoors.
