Cowboys LB Micah Parsons shares eye-catching remarks on Miami QB Cam Ward's future in the 2025 NFL draft
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward is turning heads, not just on the field but off it too. NFL All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons praised Ward on Monday's episode of "The Edge with Micah Parsons" podcast.
“I’d want on my team, it would be Cam Ward,” the Dallas Cowboys star said.
Ward's incredible play has been hard to miss. He was just named ACC Quarterback of the Week again after leading Miami to a thrilling 39-38 win over California. Ward snagged ACC QB of the Week honors for the fourth time, making it his third straight.
Ward has been instrumental in keeping the Hurricanes (6-0) unbeaten. His 91.2 quarterback rating ranks third nationally. Cowboys star Parsons added:
“From what I’ve seen on the football field, when you talk about a quarterback I’d want on my team, it would be Cam Ward. He has the chance to be the first quarterback taken [in the draft]. He’s one of them ones.”
Ward has thrown for 2,219 yards (completed 148 of 214 passes), 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions this season. He is in the Heisman Trophy race alongside other top talents like Travis Hunter, Ashton Jeanty and Jalen Milroe.
Cam Ward has been on fire lately
Cam Ward was named the National Player of the Week by the Associated Press and earned recognition as one of the eight Manning Award Stars of the Week for the third time this season. Fans can even vote for him as the Manning Star of the Week at AllstateSugarBowl.org.
Pro Football Focus gave Ward the highest quarterback grade this week—an impressive 91.0—naming him both the ACC and national QB of the week. He also made the Davey O'Brien Great Eight for week six, a list he's been on twice before this season.
Ward’s leadership was crucial in Miami's thrilling 39-38 win over Cal. He led the Hurricanes to four consecutive touchdown drives in the final moments of the game.
This 25-point deficit comeback ranks as the second-largest in Miami’s history, just behind their 1999 win over Boston College when they rallied from a 28-point deficit. The win pushed Miami up to No. 6 in the AP poll.
While Ward's streak as ACC QB of the Week will pause due to Miami's open week, the Hurricanes are gearing up for a big matchup against Louisville on Oct. 19. After that, they’ll play their first home game in four weeks against Florida State on Oct. 26.
