Deion Sanders Jr. has 1 clear question for CU's athletic director after Coach Prime denies $400K bonus rumor
Deion Sanders has found himself amid sudden money. The Colorado coach has pocketed $400,000 in bonuses this season. However, his sons are not letting him live, trying to poke fun at him.
Following Colorado’s 41-27 win over Texas Tech on Saturday, Sanders earned a hefty $100,000 bonus, adding to his $150,000 bonuses from earlier wins (as per BetMGM). This brought his total to $400,000.
However, when Shedeur and Shilo Sanders confronted their father, Coach Prime playfully denied the payout claims. He laughed, dodging his sons’ playful demands for their “share.”
The family banter didn’t end there. The eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., also known as “Bucky,” escalated the humor on X. Tagging Colorado athletic director Rick George, Bucky wrote:
“Is this true? @RickGeorgeCU.”
Coach Prime joined the fun, later tweeting to assure all his kids — including Shedeur, Shilo, Deion Jr., and even Travis Hunter — that there was no big bonus jackpot.
Sanders’ contract includes lucrative incentives. From here on, each remaining regular-season win will bring him an additional $100,000, while postseason accolades like Big 12 Coach of the Year would earn him $75,000.
With No. 18 Colorado (7-2) aiming for a Big 12 title and Sanders’ bonus potential still intact, the Buffaloes have a lot riding on the upcoming games. For now, though, the Sanders family enjoys every moment of their on-field and off-field victories.

Deion Sanders enjoys coaching the Colorado Buffaloes
After a tempting pitch from his former teammate Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders has put some water to a potential fire.
On Fox Sports’ “Speak” this week, Irvin asked Coach Prime:
“I know you’re a day-to-day man, but can you think about (someday coaching the Cowboys?)”
Sanders immediately cut him off with a laugh and a nondenial, saying (Timestamp: 16:00):
“Oh, Lord. Don’t start that. Don’t start that. … I love it where I am. I love it where I am. Let me take the computer in here. … I gotta show you where I am, 'cause I love it where I am!”
His stance left Irvin’s co-hosts cracking up, although he didn't say no to coming back to the franchise where he won a Super Bowl as a player.
