Deion Sanders Jr. drops 4-word message to shout out Shedeur Sanders & Cam Ward's mentors after duo's latest achievement
Deion Sanders Jr. gave a special mention to Select QB Athletics after Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward were named finalists for this year's Davey O'Brien Award. Deion Jr. informed his followers on X that two of the three quarterbacks nominated for the award are products of the training center in Houston, Texas.
"2 out of 3 @SelectQb," Deion Jr. tweeted.
Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel is the third finalist on the list to win the prestigious award this season.
Select QB Athletics was founded by Darrell Colbert Jr. in June 2019. The training center, located in the Houston metropolitan area, offers personalized sessions to hone the skills of quarterbacks of all ages.
Shedeur and Ward are two signal-callers who seem to have benefitted tremendously from their training experiences and are now among the top QBs in College Football this year, with their stock also rising for the 2025 NFL draft.
Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are also in contention to win the Heisman Trophy this season
Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are among the quarterbacks still in the race for the Heisman Trophy this season.
Sanders has completed 303 of 413 passes for 3,488 yards and thrown 30 touchdowns, with seven interceptions for No.23 Colorado (8-3, 6-2 Big 12). He has also rushed for four touchdowns on 81 carries across 11 games.
Colorado will face Oklahoma State (3-8, 0-8 Big 12) in Week 14 on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ward has completed 268 of 399 passes for 3,774 yards and thrown 34 touchdowns, with seven interceptions for No.6 Miami (10-1, 6-1 ACC). He has also rushed for 177 yards and four touchdowns across 11 games.
The Hurricanes will conclude their regular season when they square off against Syracuse (8-3, 4-3 ACC) on Sunday.
The race for the Heisman could go down to the wire, and both Shedeur and Ward will need to be at their best in Week 14 to remain in contention for the trophy.
Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty are also among the players who will give the two QBs a push in the Heisman race.
