Deion Sanders turns self-promotion mode on as Coach Prime's marketing masterstroke takes over the NFL

Colorado coach Deion Sanders is riding high on the back of the Buffaloes' stunning 48-21 win over the UCF Knights in Week 5 of college football action. On the back of spectacular performances by Buffs stars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, Colorado has improved to 4-1 this season.

The Coach Prime brand is still strong and that was evidenced by the entourage of stars that attended the Buffaloes game in Orlando. This included rapper DJ Khaled and former NFL stars like Cam Newton.

Off the gridiron, the charismatic Deion Sanders turned to marketing matters on Thursday. He reposted a story about the impact of his custom DT Max 96 signature shoes that are making a comeback in the NFL.

The graphic detailing the impact of the custom shoes was posted by Smac Entertainment.

Deion Sanders also recently saw his maverick quarterback son Shedeur Sanders get a deal with Nike to continue the family legacy. The Air Max DT 96 or Diamond Turf was widely popular during Coach Prime's playing days.

Deion Sanders' Nike legacy continues through son

Shedeur Sander's endorsement deal with Nike coincided with the announcement of the release of Coach Prime's 'Vegas Gold' Air DT Max '96, via shock drop by Nike to commemorate the deal.

During an episode of the quarterback's '2Legendary' podcast, Shedeur revealed his vision for Deion Sanders' Nike legacy.

"I would want to build on it. I want to build on it. Have like a different version. But I think concept, because I feel like it's more … like now, like just looking at life and looking at everything, it's more about generational," Sanders said.

The quarterback further broke down why he would rather continue to build on Coach Prime's Nike story rather than start his own.

"It's more about what could be passed down year after year after year after year rather than everybody starting to think they're whole new wave and whole new because there's no real substance behind it. Everything that's great has to have a story behind it," Shedeur said. "Every great player has to have a story behind it. So I feel like when it comes to design, anything like that, it always has to have a great story behind it."

The legacy of Deion Sanders seems to be in safe hands with his son's deal with Nike and various draft experts projecting him to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
