Deion Sanders unveils Buffs’ fiery response to Stanford setback in the form of vigorous practice for Week 9 [WATCH]
Deion Sanders is trying to find ways to revive the Colorado Buffaloes after the Week 7 Stanford debacle. Knowing Coach Prime, he will leave no stone unturned to ensure that fans do not have to endure such a performance from his team ever again.
The Buffaloes are back on the training field after going through a bye week on the heels of a humiliating defeat against the Stanford Cardinal. Prime Time has increased the intensity of the team's practice sessions before their next big test this weekend. He is formulating a fierce response to his critics who have started doubting his process.
Watch: Deion Sanders ups the ante in Colorado practice
No coach wants to see his team perform the way the Colorado Buffaloes did in the second half of their Week 7 clash against the Stanford Cardinal. As the players returned from the bye week, Sanders made them practice extra hard to prepare for their next clash against the UCLA Bruins in Week 9. Coach Prime uploaded a video from the team's practice session on Instagram, quipping that he loved the increased intensity:
"Practice has a High Intensity Level Today and I loved it," Sanders wrote in the caption of the video.
Doubts have started to creep in as far as Coach Prime and his Buffaloes are concerned. A season that started with a lot of promise is quickly threatening to spiral into chaos as Colorado have lost three of their last four games.
Getting past the Stanford drubbing will not be easy
Most of the college football world was convinced that Colorado would easily overcome Stanford in Week 7. They were definitely the better team of the two and played up to expectations in the first half, putting 29 points on the board while completely shutting out their opponents. But the second half was a completely different picture for Deion Sanders' boys.
Roles got reversed as play resumed in the third quarter, with the Shedeur Sanders-led offense getting stuck, while the Buffaloes' defense failed to control Stanford. From that moment on, right up until the end of the second overtime, the Cardinal scored 46 points and let Colorado score just 7 in return. Colorado lost the biggest halftime lead in Pac-12 history to lose 43-46.
The 4-3 Buffs take on the UCLA Bruins next in another tough matchup in Week 9. The increased intensity in practice just might be what the doctor ordered.
